We will do the classic route by Isaac Samayoa to Panera in St. Charles, but at a speed approx. 2 - 2.5 mph slower than Jason‘s ‘A‘ group ride occurring at this same time. We will also be that same amount faster than Jose‘s ‘C‘ group (Blue Skies Lite). The plan is to do the full distance, including the reverse Munger Loop. This ride is a good fallback ride for those that would try to hang with the ‘A‘ group for a bit from the start, or after our break, but then need to fall back to a more moderate pace. We will use pacelines whenever the opportunity presents itself. No one will be dropped, but please note that even though we will be well below the ‘A‘ group‘s speed, we will still be flying. This is a great ride if you are testing the waters for ride and distance. See you there. :-)

Join me for a road ride from Lombard to St. Charles, which will feature a newly-resurfaced Crescent Boulevard for your sprinting pleasure. Based on construction status, we will continue to improvise our route as necessary, with our midpoint rest stop at Panera in St. Charles. I expect to maintain the upper end of the posted rolling speed, with optional sprints. If there is enough interest, we may form faster or slower sub-groups. I expect to do the Munger Loop, so anticipate total mileage closer to 50 miles. Others are always free to bypass the loop. We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities. No one will be dropped. Please don‘t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Three routes, two county tours, one result: a painfully fun, must-do biking experience destined to find its way onto your June calendar for years to come. 2024 marks the 21st Horribly Hilly Hundreds. Commonly referred to as the "Suffer fest of the Year" and "The Toughest One-Day Challenge Ride in the Midwest" is not to be missed by serious riders anywhere. Since 2003, Horribly Hilly participants have enjoyed a day of riding that results in an awe-inspiring accumulation of 10,000 feet of elevation gain in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. Growing in popularity each year, the Horribly Hilly registration has moved to an annual lottery system to accommodate the swelling number of interested riders. A second and third route option beyond the original course were added in 2005 and 2011. How hard do you want to push it? Choose between the 100K, 150K, and 200K routes. The day is capped with a meal featuring quality local food and beer. Approximately 1,200 riders test their mettle on southwestern Wisconsin‘s scenic byways each year in the Horribly Hilly. Join the ranks of an inspired community of riders for the premier cycling event in the Badger State and beyond. Start Times: It is essential that you do not start early, this is a safety hazard and forbidden by local authorities. – 6:45AM / 200KM – 7:00AM / 150KM – 7:15AM / 100KM Unfortunately all individual and Tandem spots are sold out.
