Subbing for Jason. Please note that we will attempt a rotating pace line. You can opt out if you are not comfortable with pulling and just rotate to the back. Join me for our regularly scheduled Friday road ride from Lombard to St. Charles. Our midpoint rest stop will be at Panera in St. Charles. I expect to maintain the lower end of the posted rolling speed if I am pulling but open to going faster, with optional sprints, and ride the Munger Loop (51 miles), but feel free to do a half loop (47 miles), or head into Panera at your option (43 miles). We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities. No one will be dropped. We will ride around Elmhurst locating the best decorated homes in preparation for the October Community ride. There will be lots of stops. Lights are a must.

A half-century ride through Chicago and near north suburbs to the original Hackney’s location on Harms Road in Glenview. The route features a mix of neighborhoods, city streets, and paved trails. One stop each way in addition to lunch. Hackney’s is a north suburb institution. This is the original location opened in 1939, featuring great food and outdoor dining next to Harms Woods along the North Branch Bike Trail. Entrees range from $15 to $20. Expect to be back in Elmhurst around 3:30 PM. I will stick with the advertised 14-16 MPH pace. This is a conversation-paced ride, not a fast ride! I will publish the route in the week before the ride. This year, I expect I will take my original route back into Elmhurst along North Avenue. Check back a few days before the ride for more details.

Join me for the Elmhurst Community Bike Ride where all are welcome as long as you can ride a two wheeler without training wheels. We will ride from the Elmhurst City Hall parking lot to East End Park and then return. All particpants must where a helmet and register for the ride.

Pull out your Witches attire for a fun ride sharing candy(provided by sponsor) to kids along the route. ??Entry is a donation of food to support Elmhurst Yorkfield Food Pantry. ??????Experience a Halloween tradition like no other! ???? This year’s theme is Red, White & Broom - honoring America’s 250th Birthday! Join our community in the enchanting witches ride, where kiddos line the streets, eagerly awaiting the sight of witches soaring by, casting candy spells for all to catch and enjoy Elmhurst Witches, 21 and older, are invited to join the 5th annual Elmhurst Witches Ride on Saturday, October 24th. We‘ll meet in the parking lot of Berkshire Hathaway Prairie Path Realtors on Spring Rd at 3:30PM. The ride begins promptly at 4PM where the witches will ride through south/central Elmhurst while we toss candy to kids in the neighborhood along the route. ??????Candy will be provided by Tom Muisenga with Berkshire Hathaway Prairie Path Realtors. We will end our route with some witches brew at Doc‘s on Spring Rd. ??Plan to bike for about 45 minutes. ??Dressing up and/or decorating your broom (bike) isn‘t necessary but highly encouraged! Get as creative and festive as you‘d like. ??Entry is a donation to a local charity to be named soon! ??Please share this and invite any other Elmhurst (surrounding towns too of course!) moms or ladies - the more the merrier. ??????
