Come join the Chicago Randonneurs in their last Audax Club Parisien event in 2024 and celebrate a great season of randonneuring in this inaugural year for Chicago Randonneurs. This event is an Audax Club Parisien 200k Brevet from Evanston to Bull Valley, total miles is 125 miles with 3,048 feet of climbing (24 feet of mile of elevation gain) on low traffic roads. Ride starts/ends from Temperance Beer in Evanston. Come join me for a beautiful Saturday ride along the Fox River. We will start at James "Pate" Philip State Park at 9:00 am and ride to Algonquin. There we will take a short break and head back with a sweet treat stop at DQ. We should be back to the cars by 1:00 pm. Please RSVP so I know who to look for.

Some busy streets, cool neighborhoods, market delicacies, and hipsters. This will be a new route. We will head out thru Oak Park, north thru Elmwood Park, head east on Diversey to Milwaukee to Logan Square Farmers Market (stay 30 mins). Then we will head SE on Milwaukee, etc to get to the East 606 Trail Head. We will head back west/south via Armitage, Laramie and Wabansia ... Lathrope and back to Oak Park and east on Lake and St Charles to get back to Elmhurst. So we should see nice neighborhoods out and back. Bring money and a sturdy bike lock. Ride on; Jeff W

Trail ride (partially on road) starting from Elmhurst to Wheaton then completing the triangle Wheaton/Fox River/South Elgin/ Wheaton on the Prairie Path and Fox River Trail. We will stop for lunch in Batavia. Bring snacks and water to consume along the way. Your bike should be suitable for riding on crushed limestone. Join us for our 2nd triple B or cloverleaf century ride of the year out of Madison Meadows. Given it will be dark I‘m still figuring out the order of the ride but some combo of Busse woods, Blue Skies and Elmhurst Early bird to get 100 miles. I would like to avoid doing Busse in the dark. I will bring crumb cake and cookies for our breaks, and we will go to BILLY BRICKS pizza in Lombard on St. Charles after the ride for those who have time. In June when we did this ride, we averaged 17.3 MPH so will be aiming for around then as well (or higher :)). Hopefully, we will get a little support when we join the blue skies ride. Feel free to join for 1, 2 or all 3 legs of this ride. Please let me know no later (but hopefully sooner) than the night before if you are planning to join. First Hike AT weekend. All hikes to start at Outdoor Inn, Damascus VA. This hike is an out and back to the second highest summit in VA. (5520).

Rent Bikes and get shuttled up to top of Whitetop Mountain to ride down the Virginia Creeper trail 17 miles.

Hike the entire Grayson Highlands portion on the AT including fat man squeeze, Thomas Knob Shelter and lots and lots of wild ponies. Guaranteed plenty of wild pony encounters.
