Come ride at your pace, as many loops as you would like at Waterfall Glen Nature Preserve in Darien.
Terrain is mixed terrain/gravel, bring whatever bike you would feel comfortable on. This is NOT a road/paved ride so you are aware. This means the terrain is limestone gravel just like the terrain on the Illinois Prairie Path, Great Western Trail and Springbrook Prairie in Naperville.
Meet by the bathrooms building and beginning of the trailhead in the Main Parking lot 5 minutes before the ride starts. More details on the site/location here: https://www.dupageforest.org/places-to-go/forest-preserves/waterfall-glen
One full loop is 9.5 miles with 421 feet of elevation gain (44 feet per mile of elevation gain). You can do a ¼,½ loop, 1 full loop, 2 loops, 3 or 4 in the time frame. We typically mix up the loops to do clockwise and then counterclockwise but you can do what you want to do. This is YOUR RIDE, you whatever distance at your own pace and what is most comfortable to you, in whatever time frame you would like to ride. Please text or email the Ride Leader at the conclusion of your ride for mileage credit.

Fri, Oct 4, 2024 at 8:00 AM
Join me for a road ride from Lombard to St. Charles, which will feature a newly-resurfaced Crescent Boulevard for your sprinting pleasure. Our midpoint rest stop will be at Panera in St. Charles. I expect to maintain the upper end of the posted rolling speed, with optional sprints. I expect to do the Munger Loop (Powis->Stearns->Munger->Smith), so anticipate total mileage closer to 50 miles. Others are always free to bypass or shorten the loop.
We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities. No one will be dropped.
Please don‘t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Fri, Oct 18, 2024 at 5:00 AM
Join us for our 2nd triple B or cloverleaf century ride of the year out of Madison Meadows.
Given it will be dark I‘m still figuring out the order of the ride but some combo of Busse woods, Blue Skies and Elmhurst Early bird to get 100 miles. I would like to avoid doing Busse in the dark.
I will bring crumb cake and cookies for our breaks, and we will go to BILLY BRICKS pizza in Lombard on St. Charles after the ride for those who have time.
In June when we did this ride, we averaged 17.3 MPH so will be aiming for around then as well (or higher :)). Hopefully, we will get a little support when we join the blue skies ride. Feel free to join for 1, 2 or all 3 legs of this ride.
Please let me know no later (but hopefully sooner) than the night before if you are planning to join.
Feel free to reach out with any questions.
