Double century ride from Naperville to Dixon, IL and back. Westbound route passes through Batavia, Sycamore, and Oregon. Eastbound return passes through Hinckley, Plano, and Yorkville. Most of the route is on low-traffic and scenic IL roads. You should be able to ride long distances with minimal stops for food / water. Goal is to finish by sundown but bring lights / reflective gear just in case. Daylight finish possible with 16mph average and <= 3 hours for stops. Contact ride leader if you are interested in this ride.

Join Pussanee and me for a paved Ride to Eat. Nice easy ride on the scenic and beautiful Fox River Trail. Slower riders and E-Bikes are most welcome. There a few significant hills. Great River views along the Fox River on the way. All paved trail so any bike is fine. We will be on our road tandem. Midway stop is at Taqueria El Sazon. We stopped there last week and the food was great and they have fantastic Cucumber Margarita’s. They have small outdoor seating and a larger indoor seating. There is about a 1.3-mile road connection near St. Charles. Please kindly register due to remote start. Small parking lot so arrive early, if lot is filled there is more parking just east at Trout Park and also at the baseball fields. The weather forecast is for mostly sunny skies with a high near 80 with light NW winds. We will back before 2pm or so, unless we are not. Come ride at your pace, as many loops as you would like at Waterfall Glen Nature Preserve in Darien.
Terrain is mixed terrain/gravel, bring whatever bike you would feel comfortable on. This is NOT a road/paved ride so you are aware. This means the terrain is limestone gravel just like the terrain on the Illinois Prairie Path, Great Western Trail and Springbrook Prairie in Naperville.

One full loop is 9.5 miles with 421 feet of elevation gain (44 feet per mile of elevation gain). You can do a ¼,½ loop, 1 full loop, 2 loops, 3 or 4 in the time frame. We typically mix up the loops to do clockwise and then counterclockwise but you can do what you want to do. This is YOUR RIDE, you whatever distance at your own pace and what is most comfortable to you, in whatever time frame you would like to ride. Please text or email the Ride Leader at the conclusion of your ride for mileage credit.

This is a highly social, evening ride that has been a Spring, Summer and Fall tradition since August, 2015, always rolling at the speed-of-fun. :-)
We ride as a team and enthusiastically encourage communication, conversation and laughter, as long as riders prescribe to safe practices such as: communicating about obstacles; and maintaining gaps that are appropriate for the speed, terrain and weather conditions.
Your bike must have headlights and tail lights. Avoid using retina-burning, overly-bright and strobing lights since we ride trails as a tight pack and are usually separated from car and truck traffic. We try to courteously douse headlights when passing pedestrians and fellow riders as we ride into growing darkness.
This ride is often best suited for mountain or fat-tire bikes when riding our crushed limestone routes, but also, quite often the weather and trail conditions make this event viable for most any type of bike.
No rider will ever be left behind. We have several bona fide EBC Ride Leaders attending this ride for extra safety. Having said that, please don‘t show up if your bike is not ready or you are not in athletic condition for this distance and pace. Note that 10-12 mph on a trail may take the same effort as 13-16 mph on a road; ...and riding a heavy, fat or mountain bike requires yet additional effort.

We will be visiting 17 institutions of higher education, and you can either do a quick stop at the local C-store and move on, or linger at the six alternative controls to get some tasty local college fair.
RWGPS route will be shared with those interested once released by Minnesota Randonneurs. Time limit for 400k brevet is 27 hours overall riding time.

One of my favorite Century Road Rides - The Holland Hundred is a Saturday ride through local towns near Lake Michigan with distance options of: 18, 36, 67 and 100 miles. It has Moderate terrain with rolling short steep hills or moderate climbs. Choose your own distance and speed. I plan on riding the 100 mile ride at a moderate pace depending who attends. The only organized ride I can think of that offer a pancake breakfast on the route.
All proceeds benefit local non-profit organizations managed by Events for Good such as JDRF and Breast Cancer..
Riders may take the course at 7:00am. If you are riding the 100 mile course you are highly encouraged to be on course no later than 8:00am. Support for routes will begin to withdraw in the mid afternoon with all support vehicles off the road by 5:00pm. SAG will only transport riders with mechanical issues to the next rest stop.
Your registration fee covers all food (including a pancake breakfast!) and rest stops, a post-ride picnic at the start/finish, tech support at rest stops, SAG for emergencies and a generous donation to our charities

Come ride at your pace, as many loops as you would like at Waterfall Glen Nature Preserve in Darien.
Terrain is mixed terrain/gravel, bring whatever bike you would feel comfortable on. This is NOT a road/paved ride so you are aware. This means the terrain is limestone gravel just like the terrain on the Illinois Prairie Path, Great Western Trail and Springbrook Prairie in Naperville.

One full loop is 9.5 miles with 421 feet of elevation gain (44 feet per mile of elevation gain). You can do a ¼,½ loop, 1 full loop, 2 loops, 3 or 4 in the time frame. We typically mix up the loops to do clockwise and then counterclockwise but you can do what you want to do. This is YOUR RIDE, you whatever distance at your own pace and what is most comfortable to you, in whatever time frame you would like to ride. Please text or email the Ride Leader at the conclusion of your ride for mileage credit.

This is a highly social, evening ride that has been a Spring, Summer and Fall tradition since August, 2015, always rolling at the speed-of-fun. :-)
We ride as a team and enthusiastically encourage communication, conversation and laughter, as long as riders prescribe to safe practices such as: communicating about obstacles; and maintaining gaps that are appropriate for the speed, terrain and weather conditions.
Your bike must have headlights and tail lights. Avoid using retina-burning, overly-bright and strobing lights since we ride trails as a tight pack and are usually separated from car and truck traffic. We try to courteously douse headlights when passing pedestrians and fellow riders as we ride into growing darkness.
This ride is often best suited for mountain or fat-tire bikes when riding our crushed limestone routes, but also, quite often the weather and trail conditions make this event viable for most any type of bike.
No rider will ever be left behind. We have several bona fide EBC Ride Leaders attending this ride for extra safety. Having said that, please don‘t show up if your bike is not ready or you are not in athletic condition for this distance and pace. Note that 10-12 mph on a trail may take the same effort as 13-16 mph on a road; ...and riding a heavy, fat or mountain bike requires yet additional effort.

Come and help George celebrate his 65th birthday. No gifts please, your presence is my gift. This will be EBC Pastorino Pool Party number 49 dating back to 2006. We will have easy and moderate MTB rides and Fast and Slower Road/Trail rides to appeal to a wide range of club members. Ron Richards will lead a 55 mile Fast Road ride, Ed Gin will lead a 30-40 mile slower road/trail ride, Pravin Patel will lead an intermediate MTB ride, George and Consigliere Baltimore Ortega will lead an easier MTB ride that Pussanee will sweep. We will have a variety of really good food catered from Spring Forest. Lunch will be followed by a cool off swim in the Pastorino pool, swim suit required. Feel free to bring soft drinks, adult beverages and a side dish to share if you like. Kids and non-riding spouses are encouraged to attend the Party. These parties are also a great way for new members to meet other club members, so come on out, don’t be shy. Some people swim and some people don’t, it’s not a requirement! Lunch from Spring Forest is on the Pastorinos and Ed Gin will have his famous Korean Kalbi (Galbi) Chicken. This event is a ton of fun and has something for everyone. If you can’t make the ride, come to the Picnic/Swim/Food/Beer/Laughter event after, just plan to arrive after 1:15pm. All rides will depart at 9am, try to arrive my 8:30 am and as it is a bit chaotic getting the 4 rides organized and there is a ton of pre-ride socializing. Baltimore and I will lead an easier mountain bike ride at a slower pace. We will ride some of Palos‘s easier and nicest single track. Great Forest views. Mountain bike required. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Pussanee will sweep and no one left behind. Not a beginner ride, some singletrack skills are needed. Body armor optional and eyewear required. Please note that all pedal assist and throttle E bikes regardless of class are not allowed on any single track at Palos Forest Preserves. This is by order of The Forest Preserve District of Cook County which is the Land Manager with jurisdiction over the entire trail System and has nothing to do with EBC or the ride leader.

Come join the Intermediate mountain bike ride and enjoy the after ride pool party. I will lead a bit faster ride on intermediate single tracks in the Palos forest. Karen Kiley will sweep. There is a few miles of double track riding at the beginning and the end of the ride.
Any type of a mountain bike or a fat tire bike, except a electric assist bike will do. Body armor is recommended while eye wear and a helmet are required. Please, bring a backpack that can carry a water bladder, extra tube, a tire patch kit and snacks for a mid ride short break. It is a fun 17 mile loop with some climbs and some downhills that winds through the streets of Lisle and Naperville. We leave at 5:30 AM. This is a highly social, evening ride that has been a Spring, Summer and Fall tradition since August, 2015, always rolling at the speed-of-fun. :-)
We ride as a team and enthusiastically encourage communication, conversation and laughter, as long as riders prescribe to safe practices such as: communicating about obstacles; and maintaining gaps that are appropriate for the speed, terrain and weather conditions.
Your bike must have headlights and tail lights. Avoid using retina-burning, overly-bright and strobing lights since we ride trails as a tight pack and are usually separated from car and truck traffic. We try to courteously douse headlights when passing pedestrians and fellow riders as we ride into growing darkness.
This ride is often best suited for mountain or fat-tire bikes when riding our crushed limestone routes, but also, quite often the weather and trail conditions make this event viable for most any type of bike.
No rider will ever be left behind. We have several bona fide EBC Ride Leaders attending this ride for extra safety. Having said that, please don‘t show up if your bike is not ready or you are not in athletic condition for this distance and pace. Note that 10-12 mph on a trail may take the same effort as 13-16 mph on a road; ...and riding a heavy, fat or mountain bike requires yet additional effort.

This is a fast group road ride/competition that is put on and sponsored by Christian Cycling Club Race Team (CCCRT) in Plainfield. It is an excellent ride to test out your fitness from all the hard work over the summer and there are plenty of strong riders to break the wind and pull you along.
This year for 2024, two waves will be released, spaced 15 minutes apart.
Wave 1 - (New Wave - Elite Group Ride) Donation Required Registration 50 riders max
The "Racing Elite Group" is tailored for participants seeking to compete for cash incentives. To prioritize safety, this group will be released first, considering its high level of competitiveness.
Wave 2 - "Local Legends" Volunteer Donation. 100 riders max
The "Local Legends" group will be released 15 minutes after the racing group. Embracing the spirit of Hammerfest‘s origins, this group honors its humble beginnings. Podium winners (1st - 3rd place) will be crowned as Hammerfest Local Legends.

Day 2. From Cres to Martinšcica by bike and then sailing to Lošinj
After a nice breakfast all in the saddle…it’s time to start pedaling! Your tour starts from Martinšcica. The long and narrow shaped island of Cres is characterized by dense primordial forest vegetation and its rugged coastline. The boat awaits at the end of the ride to set sail for the island of Lošinj. There is certainly no shortage of opportunity for a few dips in the crystal clear sea before docking in Mali Losinj. Stroll through the harbor, which teems with tourists and stalls selling local products in summer. From the main square, the view sweeps over the cliff in front, giving you a wonderful glimpse.

Day 3. From Mali Losinj to Veli Losinj and sailing to the Island of Molat
We set off again to discover the southern part of the island of Losinj, among picturesque and little-visited bays, to the port of Veli Losinj (Lussingrande): the atmosphere is that of an island in the Venetian lagoon. Its center is a veritable jewel in miniature, with colorful houses and small fishing boats moored in front of St. Anthony’s Church. Have lunch on the boat and then reach the island of Molat. Here another short ride awaits you to discover this land of fishermen and farmers, a corner of paradise far from mass tourism

Today’s day starts with sailing to Long Island, Dugi Otok, the largest in the Zadar archipelago. From the small port of Bozava, pedal to the northernmost point of the island, where you will find the Veli Rat lighthouse, which gives you a unique view. Continue to the port of Savar i Bribinj, where you have time for a swim. Finally reach Zadar, the historical and cultural center of Dalmatia.

The morning is dedicated to discovering the Island of Rab. Start cycling along its eastern coast, surrounded by a lunar landscape, until you reach one of the few sandy beaches in Kvarner. The boat awaits you in the old town of Rab, to set sail for Krk, known as “the golden island,” thanks to its fertile soil. We spend the evening in the town of the same name, amid the architecture of its quaint old town.

Enjoy the last leg on the pedals in the fascinating territory of Krk Island. Through fragrant Mediterranean scrub, pedal over the island’s hills until you reach a valley covered in vineyards, and finally the museum town of Vrbnik, home of the white wine Zlahtina. Continue through rich vegetation, among ancient villages, to Omišalj, where your boat welcomes you for the last night.

Day 5: Monte San Michele to Radda in Chianti
After breakfast, a short car transfer takes you to the highest of the Chianti hills, Monte San Michele. From Badiaccia you descend through a forested valley of century old chestnut trees and continue towards the stunning medieval hamlet of Volpaia, situated amongst vineyards and castles. Stop in for a glass of red at a fine Enoteca (wine shop), before continuing on to the medieval walled town of Radda in Chianti.

Day 6: Radda in Chianti circular walk
Begin the day with a scenic walk around the historic and pretty centre of Radda in Chianti. Wander among the narrow alleyways and take in the evocative walled gardens. As you head out of town through the vineyard covered slopes stop to treat yourself to a glass of Chianti Gallo Nero at one of the celebrated local vineyards.

Day 7: Travel to Siena
After breakfast a prearranged private transfer takes you to your final destination, the historic city of Siena. One of Europe’s great medieval cities, Siena is famous for its biannual “Palio” horse race, held in the most beautiful shell-shaped square in Europe: The Piazza del Campo. Wander the narrow streets and immerse yourself in the history of this perfectly preserved jewel of Italy.

We’ve made Spring Green an open control so those who are so inclined can stop at the Spring Green General Store for lunch and of course there are always the alternatives of Culver’s or the Shell station that’s the official control.

This is the second outing as part of the Randonneurs USA Rouleur Series, a 120k team DART populaire. MUST be a member of Randonneurs USA and sign up via Driftless Randonneurs website and sign a waiver. Registration closes 24 hours before the start of the ride.

DETAILS: We’ll be doing a Dart Populaire Team Event for this ride. This is a ride with a minimum of 120 Km that must be completed in 8 hours. Briefly, the rules are as follows:
Teams consisting of minimum of 3 and no more than 5 riders.
Minimum distance of 120 Km.
A minimum of 25 Km must be ridden in the last 2 hours. This must be verified by a timed and dated receipt.
Three team members must finish together in order to receive credit for the ride.
Any team members not finishing with the rest of the team will not receive credit for the ride.

Villa Park: Villa Park Depot / Historical Society

This is a highly social, evening ride that has been a Spring, Summer and Fall tradition since August, 2015, always rolling at the speed-of-fun. :-)
We ride as a team and enthusiastically encourage communication, conversation and laughter, as long as riders prescribe to safe practices such as: communicating about obstacles; and maintaining gaps that are appropriate for the speed, terrain and weather conditions.
Your bike must have headlights and tail lights. Avoid using retina-burning, overly-bright and strobing lights since we ride trails as a tight pack and are usually separated from car and truck traffic. We try to courteously douse headlights when passing pedestrians and fellow riders as we ride into growing darkness.
This ride is often best suited for mountain or fat-tire bikes when riding our crushed limestone routes, but also, quite often the weather and trail conditions make this event viable for most any type of bike.
No rider will ever be left behind. We have several bona fide EBC Ride Leaders attending this ride for extra safety. Having said that, please don‘t show up if your bike is not ready or you are not in athletic condition for this distance and pace. Note that 10-12 mph on a trail may take the same effort as 13-16 mph on a road; ...and riding a heavy, fat or mountain bike requires yet additional effort.

Dewey Cannon Bicycle Museum

We will meet at 12:00 pm EASTERN TIME at the Dewey Cannon Bicycle Museum. We will ride the back roads for about 32 miles. Afterwards we will enjoy the ice cream social which is part of the Apple Cider Century ride. You will need to register for the Sunday ride in order to participate in the ice cream social. Please contact me so I know who will be joining this Saturday ride.
