This is a road ride with a winding start down to the Fox River Trail where we will head South to Oswego where we will follow part of the Trader Joe-Village Grind Route where we will practice riding in a pace line at 16-18mph until we hit Commissioner‘s Park for a short rest/bio break. We will then paceline back to Oswego and head home on the Fox Rover trail at a slower 14-15mph pace.
Lights required as sunset is 6:30P or so.

Lombard: Madison Meadows Park Madison St Entrance
Join me for a road ride from Lombard to St. Charles, which will feature a newly-resurfaced Crescent Boulevard for your sprinting pleasure. Our midpoint rest stop will be at Panera in St. Charles. I expect to maintain the upper end of the posted rolling speed, with optional sprints. I expect to do the Munger Loop (Powis->Stearns->Munger->Smith), so anticipate total mileage closer to 50 miles. Others are always free to bypass or shorten the loop.
We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities. No one will be dropped.

Farmers Market and the 606 Trail. Some busy streets, cool neighborhoods,
market delicacies, and hipsters.
This will be a new route.
We will head out thru Oak Park, north thru Elmwood Park, head east on Diversey to
Milwaukee to Logan Square Farmers Market (stay 30 mins). Then we will head
SE on Milwaukee, etc to get to the East 606 Trail Head. We will head back west/south
via Armitage, Laramie and Wabansia ... Lathrope and back to Oak Park and east on
Lake and St Charles to get back to Elmhurst. So we should see nice neighborhoods out
and back.
Bring money and a sturdy bike lock.

Willow Springs: Columbia Woods
Come and join Pussanee and me for a nice relaxed trail and road ride to Public Landing in Lockport. We will have lunch and a fine craft beer or cocktail. Public Landing has really great food, an idyllic patio that is right on the Centennial Trail that is bike friendly plus interesting craft cocktails. The ride is all on paved and gravel/limestone trails plus roads so any bike is fine but 32mm tires will be better for the gravel but not required. We will be on our road tandem. As always on these types of rides, the first beer or craft cocktail for riders is on Pussanee and me. If you don’t drink alcohol then your first soft drink or mocktail is on us, Please park all the way in far west end of the parking lot, drive until you can’t go any farther. Lot is .8 of a mile deep. Slower riders and E-Bikes are most welcome. Back by 5PM, unless we’re not. The weather forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a few afternoon clouds. Unseasonably warm with a high of 84F and winds out SW at 10 to 20 mph. Please kindly register.

Elmhurst: Panera Bread lot in back of store
Come join me for a ride for coffee. We will leave from Elmhurst and ride to Busse Woods via Villa/Tonne and then ride around the Busse Woods. We will stop for a brief bathroom break before riding toward Carol Stream along the Salt Creek Trail (paved), We will stop at a bakery and then for coffee up the street before heading back. Wear layers as it may be colder at the start. Bring money, water and a snack if you don‘t want to purchase anything at the bakery. We will probably need to ride slower while riding through Busse Woods. Class 1 and 2 electric bike riders are welcome.

Paul Douglas Preserve Trailhead
Hoffman Estate
Join me for a super easy mountain bike ride at the Paul Douglas Preserve in Hoffman Estates. The trails loop around in woods and gently rolling prairies. The single track trails are one way only and are free of rocks and roots. Any type of mountain bike including a fat tire bike would do. The county prohibits electric battery operated bikes.
Some single track riding would help. Please bring water and snacks for a short trail side break. We will ride as a group. The trail head is accessible from the W Central Rd. Please, park at the far end of the parking lot.
Frankfort Area Historical Society
We will start in the parking lot that is east of Oak St and north of Kansas St. We will ride the trail east through Sauk Trail Forest Preserve and back. There if the group wants to ride a few more miles we will head west and bike through Hickory Hills Preserves and back to the cars. The full west loop would add up to an additional 11 miles.

Join me for a wonderful, sometimes challenging ride to Clarendon Hills for delicious coffee at Tierra Distillery & Cafe. We will head out south going through Oakbrook, Westmont before reaching Clarendon Hills. Our return will include heading East to Hinsdale before heading north through OakBrook and then Elmhurst. Bring water, and a credit card if you plan to get coffee Tierra doesn‘t accept cash. Lots of options to sprint will be available.

Lombard: Lombard Commons Park in the parking lot off of Grace St
Flat mixed surface loop, 99% rail trails on Illinois Prairie Path, Fox River Trail and the Great Western Trail. The gravel is hardpacked finely crushed limestone, smoother than many paved roads (although It can be mushy after prolonged periods of rain). Bring bike suitable for finely crushed limestone.

This is a road ride with a winding start down to the Fox River Trail where we will head South to Oswego where we will follow part of the Trader Joe-Village Grind Route where we will practice riding in a pace line at 16-18mph until we hit Commissioner‘s Park for a short rest/bio break. We will then paceline back to Oswego and head home on the Fox Rover trail at a slower 14-15mph pace.

Lombard: Madison Meadows Park Madison St Entrance
Join us for our 2nd triple B or cloverleaf century ride of the year out of Madison Meadows.
Route Update: We will do 50-52 miles then regroup at Madison Meadows for the Bule skies ride at 9 am. We will ride the Busse woods route and then on the way home, peel off to Schaumburg heading WEST then to County Donuts for a short break. Then back to Busse for one more loop followed by heading back to Madison Meadows for break #2. Then we will do Blue Skies and have break #3 at Panera.
I will bring crumb cake and cookies for break #2 and after the ride, and we will go to BILLY BRICKS pizza in Lombard on St. Charles after the ride for those who have time.
In June when we did this ride, we averaged 17.3 MPH. Given slower pace in Busse woods we may not hit this but love to say above 17.0 but we shall see where the day takes us! Hopefully, we will get a little support when we join the blue skies ride. Feel free to join for the first half, second half or all of it!

Lombard: Madison Meadows Park Madison St Entrance
Pinch hitting for Jason and as the 2nd leg of the Triple B Century.
Join me for a road ride from Lombard to St. Charles, which will feature a newly-resurfaced Crescent Boulevard for your sprinting pleasure. Our midpoint rest stop will be at Panera in St. Charles. Pace depends on the group, possibility to do paceline and taking turns pulling, with optional sprints. I expect to do the Munger Loop (Powis->Stearns->Munger->Smith), so anticipate total mileage closer to 50 miles. Others are always free to bypass or shorten the loop.
We will face some hills, rollers, and open road with narrow shoulders, so a road bike and some road riding experience is highly recommended. Ample regroup opportunities.

Lisle Police Station Front Parking Lot
We‘ll start like the Lisle Early Bird but go further west in Naperville then south to Knock Knolls park, along the DuPage river trail to Whalon Lake, up the hill to cross Boughton road, east on Lee to Pinecrest and wind our way back to the start. This ride will begin after the regular Early Bird finishes and may set off anytime after 6:45 depending on when the Early Bird finishes.
We will do 15 laps on the stairs and if there is interest we will do an additional 4 miles on the yellow trail. Don‘t want to do 15 laps? Come a little later and meet up on the stairs. It will take us a little over 2 hours to do 15 laps.
