Canoe-Kayak the Kishwaukee River / 8 mi @ slower pace / George Pastorino

Come join Pussanee and me for a nice Paddle on The Kishwaukee River. Please reserve a boat early as last time several people could not get boats. Boats are not being held by me. Tandem canoes and Kayaks are $60.00. Single Kayaks are $40.00 includes life vest and paddle. Please register so we know who is coming. Call Troy at 815-616-9023 and tell him you want the 9am trip with George Pastorino. We meet at the takeout and shuttle to the put in so when we are done, we are at our cars. Cash Only. We will go rain or shine unless they cancel due to lighting or storms. PLEASE NO ACHOHOL ON THE TRIP AND PFD’S MUST BE WORN ANYTIME YOU ARE IN THE BOAT. We will stop for lunch so bring a sandwich/snack and enough water for the trip. This is from the website: “The "The Kish" is rated as a Class A river by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. This means it has a significant number of species of fish that are silt intolerant. It is very nice to be on a river with clean water. If you are a fishing enthusiast, you are apt to catch smallmouth bass, crappie, catfish, walleye and an occasional northern pike. You are invited to bring a pole if you would like. Catch and release is appreciated though! The "Kish" has many opportunities to see a variety of wildlife along its shores and in its waters. You may see bald eagles, blue herons, otters, and soft-shelled turtles during your adventure. If you especially enjoy watching the birds, this is the place to be. Of the 299 species of birds that regularly occur in Illinois, 262 can be found among its trees and along its shores. There are some sandbars that you can land at to take a break during your trip. The Espensheid Memorial Forest Preserve and the Kishwaukee River Forest Preserve are also a nice place to stop at to have a picnic or use their outhouse facilities. We are a friendly, family-owned business with years of experience. We want you to have an amazing and memorable trip!"
