Come join us for a slower ride along Des Plaines River Trail and Greenway and the North Shore Trail with an 8 mile out and back through Middlefork Savanna which is a rare tallgrass savanna that features a mix of oak savanna and woodlands, wet and mesic prairies, sedge meadows and marshes. We will break at beautiful Independence Grove Forest Preserve after doing the top loop around the lake We may stop a few times by the river to explore and take pics. If you are a little slower, no problem we will ride the pace of the slowest rider. E-bikes are most welcome. Not a good ride if you have time restraints or want to get from point A to point B the fastest way possible way. After the ride we will enjoy a fine craft beer at Lake Bluff Brewing Company after we get tacos at the excellent The 0ther Door Taqueria. Both places are right on Lake Bluff Village Green. As always on this Brewery rides the first beer for all riders is on Pussanee and me. If you don’t drink beer then your soft drink is on us. We will sit at the outdoor patio of the brewery or in the park. Trail is hard pack gravel and paved so any bike with 32 mm or larger tires will work. We will be on single Hybrid bikes. Bring lots of water. Parking is limited so please arrive early. There is parking on the local street or at the Metra Station across the street from the Park. We will meet up at the gazebo in The Village Green. Bring money for tacos. Pussanee will sweep...no one left behind. The weather forecast calls for sunshine and clouds mixed and a high 77F with light and variable winds. Please kindly register due to remote start. Pace will be 8 to 10 on the gravel and 12 to 14 on paved sections
