About this event
Come and join me for some gravel + adventure in Hayward, Wisconsin at the Hungry Bear Gravel Event. This event has a route to challenge all riders (30-60-100 mile options), presented by CAMBA (Chequamegon Area Mountain Bike Association).
From their website: "Take on the challenge to ride the Hungry Bear 100, race the Snacking Bear 60, or start with the Climbing Cub; all routes give riders a taste of Northern Wisconsin gravel riding and the great communities that make up our Northwoods. he Hungry Bear organization truly appreciates everyone in our extended rider family for your invaluable support by registering for the event, embodying the Spirit of the Hungry Bear, and choosing to come up north. Your participation not only uplifts our event but also significantly boosts local businesses as they begin their summer season. Thank you for being a part of this journey with us.
The Hungry Bear Gravel Race in Cable, WI is a celebration of community, connection, and Northwoods adventure. With a vibe that welcomes riders of all backgrounds and experience levels, it’s grown into one of the most beloved gravel events in the region. In this reflective and deeply personal story, Monica Shoberg shares what it was like to take on the Snacking Bear 60-mile route, how she shaved three hours off her time from last year, and why the true heart of the Hungry Bear isn’t about speed, it’s about people.
